I'm not so much setting goals for myself for this year, but am setting standards instead. For instance, I'll to come up with some new graphic designing work that will get me onto the front page of Bungie again. One way or another. I know the competition to do so is very hot, but I did it once-I'll do it again.
But that's beside the point. Last year I did so much more than I ever expected I could achieve, and it has done a hell of a lot to me. A big yell out to the guys on HBO and Bungie for all their support this whole time with my graphic designing, and my family and friends and the complete strangers who have commented on my art. It's a big deal to me.
But anyway, I decided to do a list of everything that I achieved last year, to look over and think upon. Note however, they are NOT in chronological order.
-Released the Vector Chief to a huge response. 1838 page views so far, 182 just on the day this journal was written. 60 people have favourited it, 27 people have commented on it, and one of those people was John Butkus, animator at Bungie (Thanks John!)
-Released Fade To Black. The fanfare wasn't as loud but the comments were just as important to me. Made a new personal work-hour record.
-Made the Paper Chief. The response was not as huge as the Vector Chief, but it makes it to the front page of Bungie.net, and gets mistaken by many as actual papercraft rather than digital imaging.
-Moved from 40 to 41 in our street. Yes, we pretty much moved next door.
-Got my Tauren Hunter to level 60 on World of Warcraft, had a long break from WoW.
-Got my Human Rogue to level 60 on WoW, had another long break.
-Am now playing a Tauren Shaman into the expansion.
-Got my XBOX 360!
-Finished most of the 5 star games out there to play on the 360 and PC, and still have a large stack yet to finish.
-Got over 5,000 pageviews on Deviant Art in the single year.
-Did another picture of DM, the first in just over 12 months.
-Lost friends and made friends that I would like to keep around for life.
-Matured a hell of a lot... I still can't believe some of the things I wrote in my journals. I'm having a hard time not just going back and deleting them. >.>
-Nearly (Only nearly) blew myself up.
-Learnt a lot about myself. What exactly? Not telling.
There's so much more that I could add to that list, but I think I'll just leave it at that. Overall, I'm proud of myself. Life is good!
-Matt
